Get to know me!

My name is Laetesha; I’m an illustrator and I live in the city of Zwolle. I grew up in the Netherlands and the Caribbean. Laetekent, means 'Lae' as in the first 3 letters of my name and 'tekent' means drawing.

When I was a young girl, I was always drawing and imagining myself in all sorts of jobs – as an astronaut, as a postman (because I thought postmen could travel the world) – I could be anything.

That’s the wonderful thing about illustrations: you can create ANYTHING, you can be anything. You can let your imagination run wild and make anything you want.

My greatest drive is to create expressive picture book illustrations full of colour. My illustrations are suitable for various types of children’s books – I love telling stories!
